There is nothing wrong with getting a set of software solutions that will tailor your needs to the solutions that works for the good of the organization. You can certainly do without all these solutions, but if you want to work with the most important aspects of the business organization, then the Dell Virtualization with the VMware will certainly work to give you these functions.

Critical data protection is ensured by the use of the Dell virtual systems, and with the recent additions of the integrated backup programs, you get real original data when one source becomes unusable. Data is essential, and you need to ensure these are those records that will help in the business continuity aspect of the corporation. In short, all these aspects to the best of the programs will work to use the ease of deployment of the programs.

Management of the data and the records in a timely manner also results to better operations, and VMware assures the business organization of such operational functions. Eventually, it preserves and secures all the necessary elements for the business. Combining the security features of the vSphere and VMware, it gives you the support from the vendors that will integrate the necessary protective firewalls.

Critical data is one that cannot be accessed by hackers and intruders that wants to take advantage of the weak and flimsy designs of the other programs. With archiving and safety storage to the documents and the files, you will be optimizing to the fullest levels possible the use of the automated software solutions.

OK so wow, Recipe Finder! It’s a brand new site that helps people sift through the many recipes available on the Internet — over 1,121,131 recipes and counting as of this writing. Actually if you do some poking around, Recipe Finder is an actual search engine specifically designed to crawl the web for food items. Like in Google where you can customize search by images or timeliness, Recipe Finder can sift through the web using length of time prepared, serving size and calorie count. But today that’s not important — we’re here to see whether this baby can scour the web for the odd stuff. You know how the oddest of things can be found on the Internet — so let’s see what the deepest recesses of the web can bring forth to the dining table

I wonder if they have recipes for cannibals.

With over 1 million recipes, there’s probably something out there that’s really obscure. Let’s do a quick search for “people.”

Ah OK. Figures. Gingerbread people, meals for two “people” .. but wait a minute. What’s this on the sidebar under “suggested.”

Oh my god! Could it be? They’re actually serving meals for “people eaters.” This I’ve got to see.

Ah bullcrap. Cute though. You may be too young for this but, the “Purple People Eater” was a meme back in the 1950′s based on a song about a purple monster that wanted to become part of a rock and roll band. Yeah.

Okay moving on. So we definitely can’t find cannibals. Let’s see if we can find something controversial to the tastes of organizations like Green Peace. Let’s go for sharks. As you may or may now be aware, shark finning is considered illegal in a lot of places around the world. Here’s a short primer to help you understand the role of sharks in our oceans. So, after scouring the 1 million + database, we’re left with a couple of entries — two seem to be legitimate recipes for shark fillet. And this other one, a cocktail drink.

Fascinating. It’s covered. Moving on.

I wanted to see if they kept recipes of domesticated animals like dogs, but the results predictably showed a ton of results for hotdogs, corn dogs and other fancy party fanfare. So then we move on to cats. Everybody loves cats. They’re on the Internet. But are they on Recipe Finder?!

Tadah! Okay so maybe Cat Poop Cookies isn’t what we had in mind but yay to humanity for not succumbing to the evils of presenting felines at the dinner table.

That was an interesting short experiment. My overall verdict is that yeah, you can really dick around this search engine and find the really obscure stuff but kudos to the team for building a rather interestingly huge database collection of food!

Something inside me just marvels at how creative people can be. One look at this fire extinguisher speakers tell me this can be an awesome addition to the visual impact a bachelor’s pad can have, or a small club even. Got this lead from www.technabob.com .

Russian modder Strannik sure has steady hands! Drilling holes and making precision cuts on a steel cylinder is no easy feat. Much less making these babies acoustically great… ah, haven’t heard any of these yet in real life, but I’m hoping they’re as good sounding as they are good looking.

Hop on to this website to see how this is made from scratch. Don’t mind the foreign text written there, I think the pictures will speak for themselves. Custom making one is a lot of hard work really, but the end product is quite impressive, don’t you think?

Or maybe I should say nerdom. I just read this post over at Forever Geek, talking about how a professor is proposing to ban the words “geek” and “nerd.” Why? He says that their use merely helps in propagating the negative connotations that have always been associated with them. He says this despite the fact that more and more people are starting to get into the idea of “cool geeks” or “cool nerds.”

David Anderegg, professor of psychology from Bennington College, says that these terms are derogatory and liken them to racial slurs. His opinion is that even if we try to make these terms cool, it only highlights the fact that they are of a negative nature.

Now I am no professor, but my take on this is that there is NO NEED to ban “geek” or “nerd.” Turn your television on and what do you see? Music geeks dancing and singing on Glee. We have geeks – and nerds as well – making us laugh till we bust our seams on The Big Bang Theory. Even shows which are not mainly focused on geeks and nerds have at least one character that fits the description. Think Criminal Minds. I love Spencer Reid, don’t you? Penelope Garcia?

If our society is slowly – or maybe not even that slowly – opening itself to the idea of cool and fun geeks and nerds, why should be even consider banning the words? Do they offend you? I certainly am not offended!

In this case, the problem came in the face of Google’s farmer update, which was supposed to stop the development of copying websites that simply stole content. On the contrary, the update seems to have killed the traffic for a number of reputed websites that provide this type of service, effectively showing that Google are taking a no-exceptions policy for this.

And if you’ve been following your favorite geek communities closely, you’ve surely seen the uproar this has caused – basically there’s nobody out there among the techy communities to support the giant on this move. It’s true, the update did remove a lot of malicious websites from Google’s search results – but then you look and see that some major directories are gone as well, and what can you think? Certainly nothing positive.

This has been a common problem in the Internet for years now, and the farmer update isn’t the cause, it’s a symptom – those who control the spread of Information and the development of the Internet services usually deem it more appropriate to kill off a majority of legitimate content or users just to deal with the few malicious ones. And it’s a practice that certainly needs to be stopped – sooner or later, it’s going to start affecting us more seriously, and we need to take action before it’s too late!

Large amount of data sent over the internet through communication networks from one part of the world to another part every second. Some information may be solely private and the sender or the receiver may not want to disclose it to any unauthorized person but with a common communication network, protection of data and information from unauthorized access becomes increasingly difficult. Hence, internet security is of utmost importance in order to protect any data from misuse.

An owner of a website has the sole responsibility of protecting all its users’ information from other people. This includes protecting the data from other users, which use the same server, and users of the same site. Hence, his prime responsibility is to choose a safe and a secure web service-hosting client for hosting his website. Cheap webhosting that uses virtual dedicated servers may sometimes prove to be dangerous as they are more prone to security threats than the normal ones. It is also of utmost importance that the operating system software that comes to use by the web hosting service provider constantly updates in order to avoid such threats.

Cheap webhosting can also lead to improper software use at their servers, which may add to the security problem. Highly confidential information such as military, emails, online shopping, online bank transfers are made through a dedicated server with a high degree of security and data encryption in order to prevent data access by unauthorized sources.

Dedicated hosting definitely has a lot of advantages over shared hosting for that matter. Dedicated hosting as the name itself indicates is the type of hosting wherein you can have your own server that is not shared by any other person as is the case with shared hosting. This only means that you are entitled to get unlimited hosting in the case of dedicated hosting. If you want to load or store software then you should consider dedicated hosting.

One of the most important advantages of dedicated hosting is that the disk space and bandwidth are close to being unlimited in the case of dedicated hosting. Since the extra bandwidth is bought along with the pack of dedicated hosting, it is often the case that dedicated hosting is characterized by unlimited hosting.

Unlimited hosting helps in the mission of expanding your business in the sense that the more and more your business expands the more and more it could be accommodated by the hosting server. This is the advantage of dedicated hosting. Shared hosting on the other hand is not endowed with the feature of unlimited hosting. Your hosting plan becomes limited in the case of shared hosting. This is because of the fact that the server is shared by others too in the case of shared hosting.

It is interesting to note that small business will not need more that 1GB of bandwidth. On the contrary if you expect your business website to be visited by a large number of visitors then you can opt for hosting plan with more bandwidth. This has to be done during the selection of the appropriate hosting plan for your website.

There are certain things in life that make us ask that eternal question: Why? In Google’s case, millions of people are probably wondering what pushed them to pull out of China, when this country has so much potential to generate revenue. After all, China is not the most populated country in the world for nothing. They are also quickly catching up (if they haven’t already) with the rest of the world in many aspects, technology being one of them. So why did Google do it?

Perhaps only the Google gods know the ultimate reasons, but we can form our own conjectures. One possible reason is the most obvious – the atmosphere is simply not friendly for the company. After that recent hacker attack, it is pretty obvious that things are not good. No one can really tell what the hackers were after or if they even got it, but the mere fact that it happened seems enough to make the Google boys think twice.

In relation to that, the question of intellectual property is always up in the air. What if Google were to lose their propriety information (because of their operations in China)? For sure, the brains behind the company will still be the geeks we adore, but losing control over confidential information is going to run the business to the ground.

I am pretty sure there are more reasons – probably more substantial as well – but I can only guess. What are your theories?

For many, it is just any other day. For geek icon William Shatner, it is probably the most important day of his life, for it’s his birthday! For avid fans, it definitely is one of the most significant days in the year, for if he weren’t born, life wouldn’t be the same, would it?

So guess how old he is? Hard to believe, but the person we all fell in love with as Captain James T. Kirk is now 79 years old! Time does fly by so fast, doesn’t it? And, flattery aside, he doesn’t look his age at all!

I like Curtis Silver’s write up about Shatner’s life – a tribute, if you wish:

James T. Kirk was the greatest iteration of a fictional space captain the world had ever seen, and is still a character that is hard to beat today. Shatner brought a flair to the job, a brash and emotional style, that has yet to be duplicated and probably never will be. Kirk was thoughtful and sympathetic but also decisive and combative. He was a lover to green alien chicks. He was always thinking, even if he appeared to be always fighting. To us, this was William Shatner. There was no difference between the two. We imagined this is how he was. Later we’d see that while similar, Shatner is a man full of life and humor, never afraid to show it to the world.

Indeed, this guy is something else. Even though many actors may have portrayed more popular roles in science fiction, I think that William Shatner is a notch above them all. What say you?

I purposely didn’t write the name of the game because I wanted you to take a quick guess. Now you don’t really have to think long and hard, do you? Ask yourself, what’s your favorite mobile game?

If you didn’t answer Tetris, then something just might not be right with you! Tetris IS the best selling mobile game of all time, and no one can argue with that. It’s been more than two decades since the game was invented but its popularity still remains. Perhaps it is due to some sense of nostalgia. Kids who used to play Tetris on Game Boy or their old personal computers or the Family Computer just want to relieve the glory days. Then again, even this generation is finding the game irresistible!

Still doubting my statement? I guess it’s time to crunch the numbers: there have been more than 100 million PAID downloads of Tetris. Now take note of the adjective: paid. We don’t know exactly how many people have downloaded the game for free (wherever that is).

A short history lesson: Tetris was invented in 1984 by a Soviet programmer. It became really really popular about five years later when Nintendo hit the goldmine with Game Boy. Back then, if you’re old enough to remember, the Game Boy was the IN thing.

Today, one can download Tetris for the iPhone and practically any other smartphone. The prevalence of these mobile gadgets certainly has contributed to the longevity of the game but we cannot discount the fact that the game itself is showing its tenacity and appeal.
