Bill Gate’s – Reliable Predictions?

gates.jpgWell, the guy might be retired but you have to give him credit for taking Microsoft onto the top of the class when it comes to the Operating Systems we have grown to know as part of everyday life, Windows. He is again getting up on stage to open the International Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas and is expected to again, make known his technology predictions for the 10th time that is. Many were wow’ed by his savvy and finesse when he was with the rising Microsoft empire but today, he’s just an ordinary Joe.

He has made predictions before on how technology would look like in the years to come and how they would be playing a part in our everyday lives as indispensable partners but he has been known to be wrong. Well, most of the time that is which is why many analysts hates the idea of him making these predictions for he has been known to prioritize areas of application of technology wherein Microsoft is either part of or is thinking about being part of. For some of the worst moments for Bill, Bob, which was supposed to make spreadsheets, documents and email more intuitive way back in 1995 it was truly a great idea. Down side, it costs as much as the computer you owned and not many could afford it causing it to bust in sales. He also predicted the rise of the PC Tablet as one of the most promising replacements to the desktop which was partially true for many have indeed bought them but imagine cramming a quad-core with today’s cooling and power management technologies (you might need a back-pack with some liquid nitrogen to prevent the thing from becoming a barbecue on your palm/lap). The so called future of the internet with smart-displays all around the house and on almost everything you could imagine also busted itself out for they cost as much as a high-end PC and who would want a refrigerator or toaster that had a smart display costing $1,000 more?????

  1. Microsoft’s Bid for Yahoo | IT Security Blog

[...] Bill Gates has left the company onto another’s hand which spelled the end of his prominence in the PC and computer industry but he is not expected to fade out soon for he is still looked at by many as the father of the Windows empire. If they indeed succeed with their bid for expansion, they will add yahoo to their already diverse list of markets on the IT industry which they have a cut of. This would also add more hatred to those people termed as the rebels of the IT world who have hated windows and it’s tight grip on the internet and computing industry as a whole. [...]
