Geek….a definition.

Geek, is a term that many of us fear being called and true to this, the first branded geeks were treated as outcasts but society has re-defined the term/word to one that is descriptive of somebody who is passionate about a certain subject. It used to be known that geeks were people who were passionate about a certain area(which was usually science), so most scientists were termed or called geeks by people outside of their respective areas of study or out of the sciences field.

Modern terminology of a geek defines it as a social or derogatory branding of a person defining them as people who are not only knowledgeable but passionate about their field of interest. These are people who get involved too much into their field of study that it becomes their lifestyle. When computers became all the rage, most people who dealt with them were coined as geeks with no exception. Now thanks to the evolution of society as a whole, we have become more mature about the said term using it to describe anyone in any field of study or interest to show that they are too engrossed in the said area.

The term “Geek”, today also denotes passion that overcomes the need for financial or monetary return. Meaning anyone who does something just for the love of doing it may be called one and that would be good to know for they are not alone for all human beings are GEEK’S in one way or another due to the fact that we all have interests and directions whoever you are.

So to end this, a salute to all GEEKS all over the world….
