Good Calling Card – A Wise Geek’s Best Friend

February 16, 2011 By dave

Staying in touch with your friends doesn’t just work through the Internet – as someone who surrounds themselves with technology, you probably find yourself talking on the phone quite often. And that’s normal – but you should definitely consider some proper budgeting plans for those lengthy phone calls, unless you want to get some hefty bills in your mailbox at the end of the month. The trick is often in using a good calling card – but picking the right one is easier said than done nowadays.

Don’t just rush your purchase blindly – you’ll probably be lured in with various goodies like free calls or the ability to recharge your card (as opposed to having to buy a new one every time), but these often come with the appropriate costs to offset them, and you must examine the deals you’re offered very carefully so that you know what those costs are. If a calling card looks like it’s going to cost you more in the long run than it does to keep paying your bills, just do yourself a favor and stay away from that deal.

Speaking of free calls, those are always a feature to look for – it’s become very common for calling cards to have it nowadays. However, it doesn’t mean that you should be paying ridiculous sums for that card – as we mentioned above, make sure you have a thorough look through the deal, so you’re familiar with it before you make your purchase.
