Introducing the Quad-core Laptop !!??!

A small laptop manufacturer, Xtreme Laptops has launched the first gaming laptop based on the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and the Q6700 chipset. Yes, these people have found a way with which to cram the new overpowered processor into a portable package that weighs a hefty 12½ pounds(Ouch.. my aching shoulders).

The Xtreme laptop comes with a price tag that starts from a bare-bone configuration priced at $2,500 up to almost $5,000 for maximum feature loaded versions. Standard features included a 17” widescreen display, one or two Nvidia Geforce Go 8700M GT or 7950 GTX graphics cards, a maximum of 3 hard drives configurable to either RAID 0,1 and 5, a 4.1 version speaker(yup, there’s a subwoofer some where in there), a webcam, 12-cell battery and much-much more goodies. WOW!!!!

But, yes, there is a but, what do you use it for? Well, nothing much according to Cnet’s Tech News for not much software is around to benefit from the advantages of the Older Core 2 Duo nonetheless the Quad core. So why make them? Maybe it’s just to show that it could be done and done now. The Intel Quad core powered laptops might not have much of a use now but for tomorrow, who knows. We humans have a knack for making use of utterly useless technologies and making them into something very much useful. Besides, even the OEM manufacturer of the casing used for the said laptop hasn’t certified it’s use for the new Quad core with very much good basis. Yes they might consume less electricity but that doesn’t make them any cooler than previous processors(Might need an external micro air conditioner or a cooling system with an external radiator(OOhhh.. ahh HOOOT…HOOOT).

So what do we do? Well what else, wait for a better use for the latest and hottest technologies that come out of their laboratories and hope they do make a good impact on life on this earth. In the near future we hope.(Can it stop global warming???)
