Texting in the US now a national trend

The US is now catching up with a trend that has caught the rest of the globe by storm years ago.

According to a study made by Nielsen Mobile, a company that claims it is the world’s largest provider of consumer research that is specifically geared towards the telecom and mobile media markets, text messaging has now overtaken voice calls in the country. During the second quarter of 2008, a typical cellphone user in the United States sent 357 text messages while only making 204 calls.

Nielsen Mobile, this trend began over winter last year and this is most likely not going to reverse soon. The company said the transition from voice to text is moving at a very swift pace. Good to see the US now a texting nation, too.
