Music geeks swear by the iRiver brand of music players over Apple’s ubiquitous iPod. The claim here is that iRiver players sound a whole lot better than the iPod because of its far superior circuitry. Unfortunately, the iPod’s marketing muscle is just too strong so we always here iPod as the best thing out there.
iRiver is not going down without a fight though as it tries to diversify its market by releasing the Speedo Aquabeat. This new player is a waterproof player that can be submerged up to to three meters. The thing also floats if it accidentally gets detached from you. The Aquabeat offers 1GB of storage, USB charging, playlist editing software, and a built in battery that can reportedly last 9 hours. The package of course comes with a pair of waterproof earphones.
