Sony has done it again. The newest gadget in town is called the Sony Mylo, which is short for My Life Online. Based on the name itself you can just guess what this toy can do.
Designed to target the 18-24 year old market, the Sony Mylo is as versatile as you can get. You can download your music onto it and use it as an mp3 player. You can surf the net through Wifi using the Opera browser. It even functions as a mobile phone! You can save up on phone calls as you can use VOIP services such as Skype. Sending SMS is an integrated function of the Sony Mylo as well.
Typing is made easy with its QWERTY keyboard that slides out. This is a definite improvement over the small keypads of conventional cell phones.
Of course, the style factor hasnt been looked over. The Sony Mylo is as stylish as you can get. Its sleek design and wide screen makes it really pleasing to the eyes.
However, there seems to one single problem. The Sony Mylo is helplessly dependent on Wifi. That means that without a Wifi signal, your phone is just like a brick. Well not totally, as you can still play music on it. Still, with the current status of Wifi today, the Sony Mylo might not be a very feasible alternative to the various gadgets we cant live without at present. Unless Wifi hotspots suddenly sprout in every place imaginable (aside from coffee shops that is), we might have to make do with separate phones and mp3 players for now.
