Microsoft has officially released the newest iteration of its popular browser Internet Explorer 7 for consumer download.
Internet Explorer 7 will run on Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition or Windows Server 2003. At the moment the browser is only available in English but options for other languages will also become available for download in the weeks to come. At the start of November, IE7 will be included in the Windows Automatic Updates service. The company said that there is no scheduled date for the inclusion into Automatic Updates and most likely this will be implemented on a staggered basis.
Internet Explorer 7 is supposed to offer more security improvements over the previous IE6, making it a far more secure browser.
Those who are already using the Beta release or the RC1 of IE7 will have discovered that the new browser only offers few improvements over the previous release.
