3 Top Geekiest Kickstarter Projects Ever

September 11, 2014 By Teresa Martinez

Kickstarter has jump-started some of the more interesting innovations introduced to humankind. Some have generated more interest than others prompting a number of people to buy kickstarter projects by virtue of curiosity. What could be more attention-grabbing than the 3 top geekiest kickstarter projects ever.

Useless Can

Imagine exploring the possibilities of science and robotics only to produce a useless can. The interesting part here is that several people are already backing up this project to produce a can that can only turn itself off and nothing else. What is even more interesting here is the amount of work that needs to go into producing this can which does absolutely nothing. You would need to assemble 45 pieces of parts to form one useless can.  So if you want to indulge into sheer uselessness, this can is one perfect prop to have.

Socket Circuits

What could be more wonderfully geeky than a papercraft animated robot with a LED-lit barrier grid animation called BarriBot? It is actually the beginning of a continuous development of a papercraft programmable and swarm capable robot. Socket Circuits provide learning and inventing, in that particular order. Simply put, its electronics and toys on paper.

Know Your Numbers

A game to help you memorize your most important contact numbers, one cannot help but think how gaming can be allowed to be as geeky as needing to memorize numbers. Know Your Numbers is an app for use in smartphones. Hopefully this does the trick when it does leave the drawing board.

Funding Chances for Geeky Projects

So how do geeky projects like the three mentioned above actually fare when it comes to attracting funding support? They actually fare a lot better than most . Either people are just so tired  of old products just getting modified over and over that they would actually rather see innovative albeit geeky products have their chance or they want to see something new, period.

Product creators will never really know if their idea could reach out the public unless they present them. Geeky or not, worthy products need to get the attention and patronage of buyers. Putting them in Kickstarter just gives an incredible head-start.
